Kiltipper Woods Care Centre is purpose built and was established in 2004.
Kiltipper Woods Care Centre is a purpose built care facility, located off junction 12 on the M50 and close to Tallaght Hospital. The Centre provides a range of specialist Rehabilitation/Convalescence care for the Dublin Acute Hospitals. The Centre also provides a multi-disciplinary team approach in the provision of a wide range of specialist care for the older person, the younger person with a disability and people with Dementia/Alzheimer’s.
Kiltipper Woods has a large physio and aquatic therapy clinic which specialises in rehabilitation - wellness therapies and outpatient treatments. At Kiltipper Woods, we endeavour to provide a varied menu of interest to all residents. Our chefs are happy to discuss any special dietary requirements with each resident. We welcome suggestions from residents. We have several attractive dining rooms and encourage residents to have their meals in the dining room. Should a resident wish to have meals served in the bedroom, we are also happy to facilitate this.

Kiltipper Woods has an in-house hairdressing salon. The hairdresser is available on Wednesday and Saturday. Costs are displayed in the Hairdressing Salon. The services of the hairdresser can be arranged by informing the Nurse on Duty who will be pleased to supply you with the details of times.

Mail:
Residents whose post is addressed to them at Kiltipper Woods Care Centre will have it delivered directly to their room. Residents can post mail from reception. If necessary, postage stamps can be purchased from reception also. Relatives and friends can email a resident through the Kiltipper Woods email service. This type of correspondence is treated like an open postcard.

In-house laundry services are available for all residents. All clothing is clearly, yet discreetly, labelled and we pride ourselves in taking great care in the washing and handling of all resident's belongings.

Long Term Care
Long Term Care for the older person is provided, where despite care interventions from hospital, community, and family, care needs can no longer be provided for at home for social, nursing or medical reasons. We understand that making the decision to move into residential care is often one of the most important decisions that families may have to make. We endeavour to do everything we can to support you in making this decision. We are happy to meet with you and take the time to discuss and listen to your concerns and needs. We will provide you with the relevant information to help you make the right decision. In order to ensure you receive our uninterrupted attention, it is best to schedule an appointment. We place a major emphasis on rehabilitative nursing. All residents' needs are assessed and a comprehensive treatment programme including physiotherapy and an activity programme are developed with the resident according to their wishes and needs. The treatment programme helps to assist residents in regaining and maintaining confidence in the skills necessary to reach the highest independent functioning level possible and also assists in maintaining the general well-being of the person.

High Dependency Nursing Care is provided to meet the particular needs of people with significant medical and physical conditions. Our aim is to maintain as high a level of function, independence and dignity for as long as possible. Our highly skilled nursing team provide specialised care that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of highly dependent residents.
Respite Care
To assist in the network of support for both patients and their families, the centre offers Respite Care on a weekly, bi-weekly or weekend basis, relieving pressure and stress on families and carers. It is a secure and comfortable environment where patients can receive appropriate care at their level of need and all services provided by the centre will be offered to respite patients.

A progressive ethos in Day Care is provided where clients can attend on a daily basis; receive continued care in terms of nursing care, personal hygiene and physiotherapy. Fall prevention and safety in the home advice is offered. Wound care management, health promotion, general health advice and nutritional management is also offered. Day trips, shopping trips, exercise/activities, arts and crafts and a wide range of activities and therapies are provided as part of a holistic programme.

These success orientated activities focus on what the resident can still do, rather than what they can't, so that he or she can live with respect and dignity. We work to find easier ways for the resident to stay involved in daily life by unlocking their remaining cognitive and functional abilities and promoting their use. Understanding that Dementia affects the entire family, we include family members in the care giving team.

Weekly mass and communion service is made available to residents three times a week and a radio link to the local church for morning mass is provided.

We recognise that the needs of the younger person with a disability or those with an acquired brain injury are significantly different from those of the older person. Our services are dedicated to providing the required support for people to maintain their maximum independence through further rehabilitation. High dependency care is also provided for those with significant disability. We also provide a specialist programme of activity appropriate to the younger person, with choice and opportunity to engage in new or already established interests and hobbies.

The Centre is comprised of a Day Care Centre, rehabilitation Centre and residential accommodation primarily in single en-suite rooms with a number of double en-suite rooms. There is one four bedroom units for high dependency nursing care.
All bedrooms, whether single or shared, have en-suite bathrooms, are spacious, tastefully decorated and fully furnished. Each room comes with television, radio, phone and nurse call system.
In addition to en-suite facilities, six special assisted
bathrooms featuring up to date bathing and jacuzzi facilities are provided.
Other accommodation includes TV lounges and reading and music rooms.
