It has beautiful views overlooking Dunlaghaoire Harbour and has a large landscaped enclosed garden.it is within easy reach to the dart station and M50. We are serviced by several bus routes, 46A, 46, and 75. We have many amenities on our doorstep, hotels, restaurants, beaches, boating, fishing, library, shopping centre, cinema, swimming pool, and many more.

Each of our bedrooms in Aclare House Nursing Home is equipped with the following
Nurse call system in the event that a resident is in need of assistance.
Central dimmer lights.
Vanity wash hand basins
Television points
Overhead lights for each bed
All of same are demonstrated for each resident on admission or whenever required.
All corridors, WC, bathrooms are equipped with nurse call facilities and hand rails.
We have a robust fire safety policy and all exits and fire extinguishers are shown to residents on admission or shortly after and residents are included in the monthly fire drills.
We have a NO SMOKING POLICY in the nursing home, however a designated smoking area is provided.
On each resident room are signs with the number of their room and in accordance with our privacy and dignity policy all rooms have “do not disturb” or “please knock before entering”.
All residents have access to our nursing home phone if required, however, priority is given for nursing home business, and residents are charged accordingly. We have a public phone available for residents use at all times. If any resident requires a phone in their room this can be arranged.

In Aclare House Nursing Home residents can have visitors at any time. We ask all visitors to sign in and out of the nursing home. The signing book is in the hall way inside the front door. We ask visitors to wait in the reception area until staff inform the resident of their visitors, we request visitors to partake in precautionary infection control measures. Aclare House Nursing Home reserves the right to impose restrictions on visiting arrangements where the visit or time of visit is deemed to pose a risk or where the resident requests restrictions.
Safe keeping
We have a safe in our nursing office for small amounts of money. Aclare House Nursing Home will not be responsible for money or valuables kept in resident’s rooms. We provide a locked press for personal items in resident’s rooms.
Medical services
Residents of Aclare House Nursing Home are entitled to retain the services of their own
G.P, however if this does not suit, there is a list if medical practioners that you can
choose from.
Meals and meal times
Meals times are a social occasion in Aclare House Nursing Home. We provide nutritious and balanced meals for all our residents. We have two qualified chefs who provide varied and delicious meals and cater for all special dietary requirements. There is a four week rotation of menus within the nursing home. Meals are served at the following times however these times can vary depending on resident’s needs.
  • Breakfast – commences at 08.15
  • Lunch – commences at 12.30 pm
  • Evening meal – commences at 16.30
A choice is always available at mealtimes. Between breakfast and lunch soup of the day and or refreshments are served. Between lunch and evening meal tea and light refreshments are served. After evening meal supper is served .You can avail of your meals in our dining room or conservatory but if you wish to avail of your meals in your room, this can be arranged. Tea, coffee, and other beverages are available throughout the day. A wide variety of snacks are also readily available.
Fire safety
We adhere to all fire safety regulations and carry out regular fire alarm tests.
Other emergencies
If you discover any other scenarios/circumstances, which pose a risk to residents/staff, please inform your nearest staff member immediately.
Post
We provide a postal service for all residents who need to send and receive mail.
Safety
Your safety is of paramount importance to us. If you need assistance please ask a member of staff or alternatively use your call bell to seek assistance.
Residents attending outpatient appointments/sudden illness or injury
If a resident has to attend an appointment, the family of the resident will bring the resident, we can arrange an ambulance service or taxi service for this, however for ambulance service we cannot determine the time that the ambulance will arrive so the family member needs to be at the nursing home at least two hours before appointment time. If a family member is not available we can arrange an escort. The resident will be billed for this. In an emergency if a resident needs to attend hospital, and an escort is required this will be billed to the resident. If a resident requires a taxi service for an appointment the taxi will also be billed to the resident.
Categories of care provided
Long term residential or nursing care
For individuals who, through age, disability, social reasons, or illness, require full time nursing care.
Convalescent and post-operative care
For hospital patients who no longer need hospital care but are in need of time to convalesce.
Respite care
Offering home carers the opportunity to take a break, whilst enabling residents to enjoy time in a supportive environment with the chance to participate in social and recreational activities.
Levels of dependency cared for
Low dependency
This category refers to people who need some support in the community and the more independent residents in residential accommodation who require little nursing care. They are usually independently mobile but may use a walking stick and have difficulty managing stairs.
Medium dependency
Persons whose independence is impaired to the extent that he/she requires residential care because the appreciate support and nursing care required by the person cannot be provided in the community. Mobility is impaired to the extent that the person requires supervision or a walking aid.
High dependency
Independence impaired to the extent that the person requires residential care but is not bed bound. This person may have a combination of physical and mental disabilities, may be confused at times and be incontinent. He/she may require a walking aid and physical assistance to walk.
Maximum dependency
Persons whose independence is impaired to the extent that he/she requires nursing care. The person is likely to be bed bound, requires assistance with all aspects of physical care and may be ambulant but confused, disturbed and incontinent. Description of dependency levels as used by HIQA in their “annual return for providers of designated centres: residential care centres for older peoples”.
Our current registration is for 26. This will be updated to 27 on Renewal of Registration. Comprising of 9 single rooms some of which are ensuite ranging in size from 9.36sqm to 11.98sqm And 9 twin rooms, some of which are ensuite ranging in size from 14.8sqm to 20.85sqm. Other accommodation includes lounge, dining room, conservatory, visitor’s room, computer area, assisted bathrooms, showers rooms, designated smoking area, staff facilities, kitchen, laundry, sluice room. The communal area comprises of 90.76sqm.
