Leírás

Grosvenor House care home is situated in the village of East Stockwith in Lincolnshire. The home provides accommodation for up to 37 people.
Grosvenor House was established in 1985 and has been family owned and operated by the founders since that time. Over the past twenty three years we have become renowned for our informal homely atmosphere, and the quality of life and care that we offer to all of our residents.
Our purpose built home is situated in the pretty riverside village of East Stockwith and stands in pleasant gardens, surrounded by an uninterrupted rural aspect. It enjoys all the benefits of village life with a church and a local bar and restaurant, whilst the town of Gainsborough is just 3 miles away.
Grosvenor House boasts facilities which can only be described at sector leading. Grosvenor House offers its 37 places and facilities to a wide range of people; from residents in need of simple care, through to nursing care, dementia care, rehabilitation respite, along with caring for those who are physically disabled.
Grosvenor House is one of only a few homes in Lincolnshire to be part of the Gold Standard Framework end of life program, which ensures Grosvenor House is able to provide the highest levels of care to enable people to live well in the last years of life.
Many residents have found that their quality of life and physical health has increased many fold whilst at Grosvenor House, and we have residents who come back time and time again for respite care, along with those who have been with us to convalesce and then return to their own home.
Offering the next generation of superior residential care, 37 places for people with various residential needs from:
  • Residential Care & Nursing
  • Dementia care
  • Gold standard palliative care
  • Rehabilitation or respite care
  • Physical disabilities
  • Intermediate care
  • Our guiding values
Grosvenor House recognises the importance of independence, dignity, fulfilment, peace, comfort, privacy, happiness, and self-determination, which guides everything we do and forms our frame of reference.
We understand that each and every resident has needs and expectations that are unique and are the basis of the life we aim to offer.
The best staff
Grosvenor houses’ staff are our greatest asset, genuinely caring about the well being of our residents and acknowledging that they are guests in our residents home. All our staff actively participate in the homes ongoing training and development programmes.
Activities & Entertainment
A newly appointed activities coordinator provides a weekly programme of activities organised and based around the individual assessments and requests of our service users.
Activities include social events and handicrafts. A regular book library service visits the home. We also offer games, videos and reminiscence sessions. A variety of entertainers and mobile shops regularly visit the home. Social outings and shopping trips are also arranged. The home has a regular monthly motivation class to encourage physical and mental stimulation.
Residents are encouraged to express their social, educational, cultural and recreational needs and our programmes are centered on the personal choices of the residents.
Grosvenor House is a corporate member of NAPA - The National Association for Providers of Activities for older people. As such we agree to uphold the vision and values of this organisation.
Living at Grosvenor House
Welcome to Grosvenor House, you are now a key part of Grosvenor House, and there is nobody more important to life at Grosvenor House than you.
In the first few days you will be introduced to a member of staff, who will hopefully form a special relationship with you. This person is called a Keyworker and their role is to ensure that your life at Grosvenor House is what you want it to be, personalised and meeting your needs and wants. This special relationship will be nourished and you will feel that there is a member of staff at Grosvenor House who will come a chat to you regularly, with your best interests always in mind. Your Keyworker along with the Home Manager will give you an introduction to living at Grosvenor House within the first few days, and this will be an ideal time to make sure you are entirely confident with your new surroundings.
In these first days your Keyworker along with the Home Manager will spend lots of time with you, talking about your life before Grosvenor House, and trying to ensure that your new life reflects your old life as much as you want. We try and talk through what your hopes about Grosvenor House are, we will check what you like to eat and drink, what time you like to get up, if you prefer baths or showers, what you like to do in terms of interests and activities, your religious beliefs and ethnic choices, plus all sorts of other things you want to share with us. This will also be an ideal opportunity to ask you questions about the care you wish to receive, and perhaps start to give thought to an advanced care plan if this is appropriate.
You can also use this as an opportunity to do things differently if you wish. Perhaps you would like to explore a new interest, or make a few life style changes such as stop smoking, a change of diet, perhaps become more active, or socialise a little more, we will support and help you in all these matters. You will be able to decide yourself with a little help from your friends or family and with the full support of us.
We will check with you as time goes by that we are still meeting your hopes, needs and wants, and if you wish we can rearrange things. We will also make sure you know how to make a complaint if you are not happy about anything.
From time to time we will ask you and your family or friends how you think we are doing, what you like, and what we could do better. We will then let you now what we will be doing differently in the future to meet your requirements.
You can bring any personal belongings with you that you wish and we will arrange these for you. You can also bring a pet with you as long as we can all meet its needs.
There are no set visiting times, and visitors can come at any time and stay as long as you wish, in fact they can even stay over night. Your visitors can also have meals with you, which Grosvenor House will happily provide.
If you wish you can have a key to your room door, and it can be kept locked whilst you are elsewhere, and if required we can look after your personal spending money or anything else. We will always make sure that you feel safe and secure at Grosvenor House, and that your personal information will always remain confidential.
We have lots more information, policies and procedures, which we will be happy to explain and go through with you.
Five Star Dining
The new spacious dining room offers beautiful views across the countryside. There is access from the dining areas leading to the patio with sun awnings for those warmer days.
Cooking great food, day in and day out has never been easier, with our newly fitted WLDC 5 star rated kitchen, and serving it in the new dining room with 20ft windows overlooking the sunny south garden is the icing on the cake. The fully trained cooks pride themselves with being able to maintain a choice of menu in a home cooking style. If any resident requests an alternative, our cooks are only too happy to accommodate them. Grosvenor House prides itself on the quality of its meals, our residents all benefit from not only great tasting food, but also the health advantages that go with good nutrition. Special dietary requirements can be catered for to provide medical and cultural needs.
Adjacent to the dining area a tea bar is available for the provision of hot and cold drinks, snacks and confectionary. The tea bar is open throught the day. Meals for visitors can be arranged, given a little notice. For those residents who prefer, meals can be served in their rooms.
A new 8 person spacious lift gives access to the first floor, or if you prefer there are stairs strategically located.
A full laundry service is available on the premises.
A hairdressing salon within the home allows residents to relax and be pampered.
Visitors are always more than welcome
Not only are visitors always welcome, but also they are actively encouraged to come to Grosvenor House. The tea bar is now a minor legend in temptation. “Whatever takes your fancy, chocolates, savory or sweet snacks, hot and cold drinks and even some strange sounding Ben & Jerry’s ice creams, are available 24 hours a day. Anyone for a chunky monkey? “ The outcome of this special, little corner of Grosvenor House is visitors know they are encouraged and always very welcome to enjoy their visit. All the profits from the proceeds of the tea bar go to the residents fund at Grosvenor House.
The Living Well at Grosvenor House programme is the natural extension of our core values and aims, which everybody involved with Grosvenor House believes in. We have a unique opportunity, responsibility and privilege to do good work; these guiding values describe a framework to refer to, which clearly leads along a path towards Our Aim.
Using all of our available resources and potential; to make the biggest positive contribution possible to the quality of life enjoyed individually by all of our residents.
We have the greatest effect on our residents’ quality of life, by spending as much well focused time as possible in close contact with our residents.
If it is important, that is, it relates to Our Aim, we make sure it takes up more of our time. The only time we rush is when we are carrying out an activity which doesn’t directly involve a resident or visitor, ensuring we free up the most well focused time available.
We have a care philosophy and facilities, which are, sector leading and are enjoyed by all of our residents. We do our best as far as possible to make the lives our residents enjoy at Grosvenor House as similar to the lives, which were enjoyed before Grosvenor House.
Everybody at Grosvenor House is an equal part of the team, residents, staff and visitors.
As part of the Grosvenor House team, we are empowered to make our own decisions to plan and carry out our own day around the Living Well principals. We rarely need guidance or permission; we just know the best way, because collectively what we do is recognised as excellent.
All members of our team are so confident about the ethos of Grosvenor House to challenge anything, which is not contributing positively to the Living Well philosophy. Two ears and one mouth; we are mindful to understand, before seeking to be understood; we take our lead from our residents. When we are on the right track, our work life is fun, rewarding and enjoyable.
Activities are one of the greatest contributions towards a higher quality of life, improving well-being at both mind and body levels. Instead of doing things for our residents, we do things with our residents.
We maximise the potential of Activities, Entertainment and Events including basic human pleasures such as Laughing, Singing & Dancing. By using the Living Well at Grosvenor House monthly calendar, Activities are planned, so everybody can look forward, also activities can be and are spontaneous. Even the smallest activity at Grosvenor House can be inclusive, fun and therapeutic.
Grosvenor House is part of the heart of the community. Where and when we can we go out into our local community, and more often we invite our community in to meet us.
All our residents enjoy accommodation that aims to bring the outside, inside. Our surroundings at Grosvenor House are light and bright bringing a feeling of well-being. We make an effort to enjoy the outside, whenever the opportunity arises.
Supporting the Living Well at Grosvenor House programme is the most important thing any member of the Grosvenor House team can do, and that’s all of us. All members of our team are encouraged to give feedback, ideas and better ways of doing things.
Nursing care
Grosvenor House is committed to doing everything within our control, to ensure that we offer the very best quality of life possible to all of our residents. Within our aim to meet the individual needs we offer the following services.
Our nursing care is a very important part of our integrated approach to "Living well at grosvenor House" Research across the whole caring proffession is showing that time and time again the manner in which care is given and the mind body principles of healing, offer far superior results for the recipients. This approach is at the core or Grosvenor Houses' philosophy of care.
Personal care plans which are reviewed with you so your personal needs are met, whilst encouraging you to remain as independent as possible.
We offer residents consultations both in groups and individually.
In most cases it remains possible for clients to remain registered with their own GP.
Community nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychological and psychiatric care can be accessed through the GP service. Dental care can be arranged. A visiting optician regularly attends the home and a foot health care practitioner 6 weekly.
The home is able to provide aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and chromatherapy during bathing.
We have lots of good news stories at Grosvenor House; from residents in need of short term respite or holiday care, to people who need care to help them through a crisis period from which they convalesce and return home; younger people who have physical issues, to people who need nursing care; or people who are nearing the end of their lives and need the very best living well palliative care. Many people have found that their quality of live and physical health has increased many fold whilst at Grosvenor House and we have had residents who come back time and time again for respite care, along with residents who have been with us to convalesce and then return home much more able to cope.
The home itself is purpose built. It has recently been extended, upgraded and refurbished. It stands in newly designed garden areas which provide paved patio areas for wheelchair users and sensory garden raised planters, as well as lawned and plant features. Sun awnings provide shade during the warmer weather. The new block paved car park provides ample car parking spaces. All rooms and entrances provide easy access to wheelchairs.
Bedrooms
The majority of the thirty seven bedrooms have ensuite facilities, and all are tastefully decorated and provide first class furnishings and fittings that exceed the care standards, however you are welcome to bring your own personal furnishings and belongings to make you feel at home if you wish. All upgraded bedrooms are provided with TV aerial and telephone points. Each ensuite is equipped with disabled facilities and some have the benefit of a shower.
All the new bedrooms benefit from large windows with window boxes or French doors, along with ensuite facilities including full wet rooms in some. These large rooms all have 10 way electrically adjusted beds, connections for Sky digital TV and BT and an attractive seating space adjacent to the window for residents and their visitors. The end result is a private bedroom suite which meets all the needs of our residents, whether it be just a place to sleep or a caring environment to feel comfortable and secure in.
Although each room has its own en-suite facility there are also WCs and assisted bathrooms fully equipped throughout the home. Bathing and shower facilities are available providing equipment for very physically dependent residents. The home also has a state of the art chromatherapy, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy bath equal to that found in leading health spas. This provides a very relaxing bathing experience and with the lifting aids available, is open to even our most disabled service users.
Lounge areas
Grosvenor House’s four lounges all offer a different experience; the lounges to the front experience the comings and going of the village, whilst the two lounges to the rear offer sunny views looking out to Thunock Hills, and the peace of a private garden. With bi-fold glass doors, and full height windows overlooking the patio area and south facing gardens, automatic sun awnings offer a real benefit to enjoy the sun without all the glare and overheating. High definition flat screen televisions and DVD players provide entertainment. One of the lounges provides a library and quiet room area.Smoking is only permitted in one of the lounges.
